I tried experimenting how long the battery actually lasts if I keep watching YouTube on 'iPhone 14'

I finished the

photo review of the “iPhone 14” released on September 16, 2022, so I tried to measure the duration of the battery.

iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus - Apple (Japan)

This time, I fully charged the iPhone 14 and checked the battery consumption speed by playing ' NASA Live: Official Stream of NASA TV ', which NASA distributes on YouTube 24 hours a day, with the YouTube app.

When watching, the brightness of the screen is maximized, and the automatic brightness adjustment and ' True Tone ' that were turned on by default are turned off. Volume is set to 8 out of 0 to 16 levels. The network connection uses Wi-Fi, not the mobile network.

It looks like this when the viewing state was shot with time lapse.

I checked the battery consumption speed of 'iPhone 14' - YouTube

Shooting started at 21:54 on September 16th.

It's still alive after 6 hours...

When 9 hours and 40 minutes passed from the start of shooting, a warning of 'low battery level' was displayed. At this point, 'The remaining battery level is 20%.' Is displayed.

Furthermore, after 1 hour and 12 minutes from there, when 10 hours and 52 minutes have passed since shooting, the display switches to 'The remaining battery level is 10%.'

The power was turned off when 12 hours and 2 minutes passed from shooting.

The battery duration for video playback (streaming) listed on the iPhone 14 specification page is up to 16 hours. Apple describes the verification method in detail, and the details are as follows.

Testing conducted by Apple in July and August 2022 using preproduction hardware and software of iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 14 Pro, iPhone 14 Pro Max and enrolled in LTE and 5G carrier networks. It depends. For video playback, we tested a 2-hour, 23-minute movie purchased from the iTunes Store continuously with stereo audio output. For video playback (streaming), we continuously played a 3-hour, 1-minute HDR movie purchased from the iTunes Store and tested with stereo audio output. I tested with default settings except Bluetooth paired with headphones, Wi-Fi associated with network, Wi-Fi network connection checked and brightness auto-adjusted, and True Tone turned off.
